How it works

Your team scores. You make it count.

Pledge a few dollars for every touchdown, first down, or sack your team makes, and watch it add up live. After the game, give what you owe to the charity you picked. That's the whole thing.

Four steps

  1. 1
    Pick a side

Every NFL game this week is on the wall. Choose the team you're backing.

  2. 2
    Set a rate per stat

$10 a touchdown, $1 a first down, $5 a sack. Five stats to choose from, in whole dollars.

  3. 3
Pick a cause and a cap

Your club names the causes it plays for. Pick one, then set your cap: the most you'll give. Add a minimum if you want to give something even on a quiet night.

  4. 4
    Watch, then give

The wall adds it up as the game goes. After official stats post, we show what you owe and send you to the charity's own giving page.

For example

$10 a touchdown, capped at $50

Two touchdowns
$20
You give $20.
Four touchdowns
$40
You give $40.
Seven touchdowns
$50
Your cap kicks in. You give $50, not $70.

The wall shows your running total during the game. What you owe uses the league's official stats.

You give, someone matches

A 1:1 match doubles what your charity gets

Some games carry a match: a sponsor, a team owner or a local business puts money behind a side and adds to what its fans give. When someone matches you dollar for dollar, your cause gets twice what you gave, and it costs you nothing extra.

You give $20
$40
A match adds $20.
You give $40
$80
A match adds $40.
You give $50
$100
A match adds $50.

A match has a cap, so it can run out. Until it does, every fan who gives to that cause draws more of it, which is a good reason to bring a friend.

Not a bet

Nobody wins money. There's no prize and nothing to lose beyond the gift you chose, up to a cap you set. You give to the charity directly. FansGiving League never charges you, never holds your money, and takes no cut.

Questions

›Is this a bet?

No. You can't win anything. There's no prize and no payout. It's a donation you size in advance, tied to how your team plays.

›Do you charge my card?

No. We never touch your money and we take no cut. After the game, My pledges shows what you owe and a button that opens your charity's own giving page. You give there, and their receipt comes to you like any other gift.

›What if my team has a huge night?

That's what the cap is for. Set it at $50 and $50 is the most you'll give, even if your team scores ten touchdowns.

›What if a play gets overturned?

What you owe comes from the official stats after the game. If a touchdown is reversed, your running total drops with it.

›Which plays count?

Five team stats: points, touchdowns, first downs, sacks, and interceptions. Pledge on one, on all five, or anything in between.

›Where does my money go?

Straight to the charity you picked, through their own giving page. We never receive it, so we confirm it instead. Every cause your club offers is a 501(c)(3), and each one tells you whether we've finished confirming its registration.

›Am I competing against anyone?

Yes. Your fanbase's total runs live against the other side's all game, and every pledge posts to the wall with your name on it unless you go anonymous. Nobody wins anything except the charities.

›What does a match mean?

A sponsor or team owner adds money on top of what fans give to one charity, up to a limit. It's paid after the game and only on Given dollars: the amounts recorded for the charity once the game settles, never on a pledge alone.
